without Haila Mompié, Azúcar
Negra will not survive. Thank God I was wrong! Mr.
Limonta has put together a pair of female vocalists that
are scary.

de azúcar y dos de café has swing that rivals
anything that Limonta created before. The coros and the trumpets
are in your face and the vocals by Biunaiqui
will make you forget any comparisons. Did I mention how tight
the vocals are? Damn!
Then
there’s Vengo de estreno. I cringed when I saw
the title, since that’s one of my favorite Haila
cuts that was released on a hard-to-get demo recording of Azúcar
Negra. Due to the fact that Haila’s
version was more of a demo, the new version here is of better
quality in the production, making the song sound alive and tight.
In that sense, this is the better version.
I'm
not sure how long this incarnation of Azúcar Negra
will last, but man! What a band! And from what I've heard,
they are even better live. This is a must have.

iguala cualquier cosa que Limonta ha creado en el pasado. Los
coros y las trompetas están en tu cara y los vocales con
Biunaiqui te harán olvidar cualquier comparasión.
¿Se me olvidó mencionar que los vocales están
que arden? ¡Ñó!
Además,
está Vengo de estreno. Me dió ñáñaras
cuando ví el título, porque es uno de mis favoritos
que Haila sacó en un disco demo con Azúcar
Negra difícil de encontrar. Debido al hecho que
la versión que sacó Haila fue un
demo, esta versión es de mejor calidad en cuanto a la producción.
La canción suena más viva y apretada. En ese sentido
ésta es una mejor versión.
No
sé cuánto tiempo durará ésta incarnación
de Azúcar Negra, pero hombre! Qué
banda! Y me cuentan que son mejores en vivo. Hay que añadir
este CD a tu colección! |
