antigua Charanga Habanera se ha
renacido con La Charanga Forever,
incluyendo 10 de los miembros originales
y cuatro nuevos que le dan una chispa
nueva para esa bola de candela!
El
primer tema es Timba pura, y es como una
bendición que una eminencia de
la música cubana como Juan Formell
de Los Van Van, haya escrito
ese tema para ellos. Abre puertas, igual
que Eleggua.
En
realidad, no hay una canción en
el CD entero que no sea buenísima.
Todas están hechas para bailar!
Los bronces tienen ese swing y los tres
vocalistas armonizan como nunca antes.
Aunque
la mayoría de este CD fue grabado
en estudios en Francia, nos regalan una
joya con el Popurrí de canciones
famosas grabada en vivo.
La
sorpresa viene en los últimos dos
temas con La Charanga Forever destacando
el talento y compartiendo el escenario
con una salsera francesa (sí, francesa!)
llamada Mónica Lypso. Ella
tiene su propio grupo y muy pronto podrán

es una salsera con algo muy especial -
me encantó!
Ahora
yo siempre he pensado que el negocio de
la salsa es bastante difícil para
una mujer y de hecho hay pocas mujeres
que han logrado entrar en este campo,
notablemente Celia Cruz y Albita
Rodríguez, pero aquí
viene una extranjera con tremenda voz
y un estilo novedoso. Esta es tu oportunidad
de escucharla, y no te arrepentirás!

lustra tus zapatos, porque te tendrá
bailando de principio a fin!

They
are back! That inimitable sound of the
old Charanga Habanera has been
reborn with the Charanga Forever,
including 10 of their original members
and four new ones who add a new spark
to that old "bola de candela"!
The
first number is pure Timba, and it is
a blessing from that eminance of Cuban
music, Juan Formell of Los Van
Van, who wrote this song for them.
It opens doors, just like Eleggua.
Honestly,
there isn't a song on the entire CD that
isn't excellent. They are all made for
dancing! The brass section has such swing
and the three great vocalists harmonize
like never before.
Although
most of this CD was recorded in studios
in France, we even get treated to a medly
of their most famous songs recorded live.
The
surprise comes in the last two tunes with
the Charanga Forever showing off
the talent and sharing the stage with
a French Salsera (yes, French!) named
Mónica Lypso. She has her
own group and very shortly you'll be able

with something very special - I loved
her!
I
have always believed that the Salsa world
is very difficult for a woman to break
into, and in fact, very few women have
been able to make it in this business,
most notably Celia Cruz and Albita
