Review by

It's been a long time since I've heard such a danceable CD!

From the very first song on this CD it grabs you and shakes you to the Clave of pure Cuban Salsa, even if it's been a bit displaced to the West coast of "Gringolandia"...this is Cuban music...to make your life happier!  You can hear it a mile away, no matter where it is in the world!

One must admit that it has been influenced by other things... but that is inevitable... that's how it is with languages, accents and with food... if it is exported, it becomes influenced by it's surroundings, and once in a while it is good not to be so purist...your surroundings can add some really good flavor!  One example is Track #2, "En un cabaret", which has some English lyrics, some rap, but also a Bongó solo that is purely Cuban!

The third track is, "María Caracoles", and it's super danceable... riquísimo...the flavor and "saoco" is perfect for putting together a great rueda!

I would have to admit that the only track on the CD that I don't much care for is the fourth, "San Tomás", because it appears to be nothing more than a commercial for the band, and somewhat "agringotizado," besides.

But since the CD players today are programmable, you can skip number 4 and the rest of the CD I really like!

Track #5 seems to me much like the first Willy Chirino songs... it describes the arrival to a new country, but it adds elements of rap, mixed with bongó, a piano "tumba'o" and a great coro... what more do you want?????

I must insist that we all support new musicians on the scene... not just those who have been established for a long time.  This group has a great future!  They've been wow-ing audiences in the San Francisco Bay Area for a long time, and now it's time to play to a larger audience! ....A gozar! Ñó!!

Don't miss this one!

Buenísimo!
