I was surprised to find a salsa club where they listen to "Salsa Dura" when I first visited, and I saw Chinese people dancing salsa, as if they were in New York or Miami. There are several clubs to choose from, and plenty of qualified dance instructors. Those visiting Beijing feel free to contact me through email. The tropical lounge will feature salsa nights on Thursday and Friday nights, with a mix of other music during the rest of the week. Reasonable prices, great drinks, good music (DJ only), nice sized dance floor, and a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking Chaoyang Park.

David Hou, the dance instructor is the owner of this bar that is also his dance studio. It is a small bar, but well decorated, and very cozy. The music is mostly Cuban (pre-recorded, no live DJ or Band). Its a place where experienced dancers like to congregate. David specializes in Rueda de Casino. The drink menu features tropical drinks such as Mojito, and is reasonably priced. Open daily from 13:00 until late. Suzie Wong's West Gate of Chaoyang Park Phone: 6500-3377 Salsa night 8:30 – midnight every Tuesday night. Renowned for attracting a diverse crowd of different nationalities, professions and mental histories, this dress-to-impress club is decked out like an old opium den, and features some of the best house music in town. Salsa, however only happens on Tuesday nights. The dance floor is small, and the prices are large, but the place has quality and class. There is a free dance lesson from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. followed by free dance party from 10 p.m. until midnight. There is a short floor show at 11:15 p.m. Price Y200-Y299 per couple International Credit Cards accepted. La pista es pequeña, y los precios grandes, pero el sitio tiene calidad. Salsa Caribe 4 gongtibeilu, al frente del Loft. Tienen la pista de baile más grande en la ciudad. Una orquesta (Sabor Latino) de Venezuela se presenta todas las noches. Además tienen un DJ de la casa tocando salsa dura en el salón que tiene 900 metros cuadrados, con dos pistas. Definitivamente es el mayor club Latino en China. Abierto todos los días. The club offers the largest hardwood dancefloor in the city. The band Sabor Latino from Venezuela plays every night. A house DJ spins the latest upon the 900 square meters of double deck space, with a state of the art sound and light system.
