Silhoette Café is a place in Burbank that many of the
Rueda
in the Park people are going on Thursday nights to dance
casino and
salsa. It has become so popular that they started doing it
on Sundays as well.
This is aided by two of our Rueda in the Park members, Raul
and William aka DJ Pod Timba who plays a lot of great musica
cubana, timba, etc. And they make sure there is rueda
de casino there.

during special events like their annual competition, so I
am not sure how things are a normal night. My observations:
good place to go if you like the regular bar scene and Latin
music because there is a down stairs area where they play
hip hop and for an hour or so they break away from Latin and
play house on the main dance floor. I found the dance floors
to be very crowded and it was very hit or miss if the girls
knew how to salsa dance.

PUNTO DE VISTA: He ido varias veces aquí, pero fue para
eventos especiales como su competencia anual, por eso no sé
bien como son las cosas una noche cualquiera. Creo que es un
buen lugar para ir si te gusta la onda de los bares regulares
y música latina porque hay una área abajo donde tocan hip hop
por una hora más o menos, y tocan house en la pista principal.
Yo encontré el lugar muy lleno y era cuestión de suerte si las
mujeres sabían bailar o no.

Lessons in Rueda de Casino
by Yossi Conde beginning at 7:30 p.m. A small Brazilian
restaurant, Zabumba has a tile floor that is not for high-heeled
dance shoes, but people wear them anyway. Dance sneakers
are much better. DJ Saoco (who is Cuban and a really nice
guy), spins the discs. It gets absolutely packed by 10:30,
mostly with regulars and some "Hollywood" style
"spinners". The food is fairly good. This venue
has become very popular in the past year or so. Parking
is on the street or wherever you can find a spot.
