Salsa at the Olympics

The salsa scene in Utah is growing at leaps and bounds! More and more clubs are including dance instructors and salsa DJs in their format. The Olympics has not slowed the salsa scene here, it has even grown more!

Recently we had Salsa Brava Dance Company, Seaon Stylist, Salsabor y Caché and many other groups come to perform. Locally we have really good salsa bands that are supporting the scene, as well as the DJs, of course. The bands include Orquesta Latino, Grupo Herencia, Mambo Jumbo, Ritmo Caliente and the DJs are DJ AZUQUITA, DJ Victor Aguilar, DJ Panamá and others.

On February 20th, Mark Anthony gave a free concert in Washington square, an Olympic venue. It was a complete success.

One of the events coming up is Fruko y sus Tesos (no date set yet).

Many more Americans are learning to dance Salsa and learning what it takes to become a salsero… The Latin flavor is on a heavy duty course, 9 years and counting!
