This city has one of the finest Salsa communities anywhere! You can dance 4 nights out of the week from Wednesday through Saturday and always have a decent crowd. The primary style here is LA style though there is a large Cuban and Mexican community.

Andrea's Cha Cha Club @ Grand Café. 832 SE Grand Ave., Portland 503-230-1166 Wednesday – Saturday, 8 p.m. lesson, 9:30 - midnight dance. Cover: $5 This may be the most authentic Cuban Salsa venue in Portland. It is a small and dimly lit place in the basement of the karaoke bar-restaurant at the Grand Café. The walls are covered with nostalgic photos, as well as pictures of known singers and musicians. There is plenty of seating, and plenty of places to put down your drink as you are being asked to dance. With its full bar, and a good DJ, this place has consistently been kicking up some fun dance nights. Aztec Willie’s 1501 NE Broadway, Portland 503-280-8900 Saturdays 9:30 - 10:15 p.m. – Lesson; 10:15 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. – Dancing Cover: $5 By day, Aztec Willie's is a top-notch family style Mexican restaurant, but by night it transforms into one of Portland's coolest Salsa clubs. The atmosphere is city-sheik meets Azteca with good lighting, a separate-yet-accessible bar area, high ceilings, and windows all around. Aztec Willie's is also home to the fabulous DJ Armando who really mixes the music for all patrons to enjoy. Don't miss out on there great drinks. These bar tenders deserve monster tips. El ambiente es elegante mezclado con azteca con buena luz, un bar accesible, cielos altos y ventanas por todos lados. Cha Cha Chá Taquería 11008 Southeast Main Street, Milwaukie 503-659-2193 Sundays 6:30 p.m. - Lesson, 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. Cover: $3 Did someone say ALL AGES? Indeed! Although this venue is a little out of the way, it is totally worth the drive. A friendly crowd, a DJ who loves Timba , yummy food, and an early to bed Salsa night for the whole family? What's not to love. Leave your sparkly clothes at home, this joint is casual.	Cha Cha Chá Taquería 11008 Southeast Main Street, Milwaukie 503-659-2193 Domingo 6:30 p.m. - Clase, 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Cover: $3 ¿Alguien dijo "todas edades"? Sí! Aunque este lugar quede un poco lejos, vale la pena. Un público amistoso, un DJ que adora la Timba, comida sabrosa y una noche de salsa que termina suficientemente temprano para toda la familia. Deja la ropa pintosa en casa, este lugar es casual.
Conga Club 4923 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 102, Portland 503-314-2639 Thursday-Saturday, 8:45 p.m. Lesson (Sat. only), 9:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. Dancing Cover: Thu. (free), Fri. ($5), Sat. ($10-$15 depending on the band). This seems to be a Portland favorite as it is an interesting space where dancers can mingle, dance, or sit back and watch if they so choose. The ambiance is trying to be a bit bigger-city than Portland's general vibe allows, but the clientele is as down to earth as you'd expect from Portland, making this a fun place to go. The biggest draw to this popular night spot is that they host live music weekly - and if you haven't heard the live Latin music coming out of Portland, you don't know what you're missing. When there is no band, DJ Roger Rumba is the chatty spin-doctor who is responsible for giving this place it's energetic vibe.	Conga Club 4923 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 102, Portland 503-314-2639 Jueves a Sábado, 8:45 p.m. Clase (sólo los sábados), 9:30 p.m. a 2:30 a.m. Baile. Cover: Jueves (gratis), Viernes ($5), Sábado ($10-$15, según el conjunto musical). Este es un lugar favorito en Portland porque el espacio permite a los bailadores socializarse, bailar o sentarse a mirar si así desean. El ambiente parece algo de una ciudad mayor que lo que permite la vibra general de Portland, pero la clientela no es de ponerse aires. Copacabana Club 17 SE 8th Ave (2nd floor), Portland 503-740-9100 Fridays - Saturdays 10:15-11:00 Lesson; 11:00 - 2:30 a.m. Dancing Cover: $7 (Fri.) $10-20 (Sat., depending on the band). The Copacabana Club is host to a 1300 sq. ft. dance floor that dancers of all levels can appreciate. Patrons like the mix of a vintage Ballroom ambiance and cool blue city vibe that is not overstated or too contrived. Off the dance floor is a raised seating area giving non-dancers a place to enjoy the view without getting in the way! The bar keepers are friendly, but the selection is limited and the drinks are a bit weak. Music provided by DJ Alejandro, and the rare live band.	Copacabana Club 17 SE 8th Ave (2nd floor), Portland 503-740-9100 Viernes - Sábados 10:15-11:00 Clase; 11:00 - 2:30 a.m. Dancing Cover: $7 (Viernes) $10-20 (Sábado, según el conjunto musical). El Club Copacabana tiene una pista de baile de 1,300 pies cuadrados que puede apreciar todos los bailadores. Los clientes les gusta la mezcla de una pista de baile tradicional con la vibra nueva de una ciudad. Fuera de la pista de baile hay una area levantada para los no-bailadores donde pueden disfrutar de la vista sin perturbar a los bailadores. Los bartenders son amables, pero la selección es limitada y los tragos no son muy fuertes. Música con DJ Alejandro y de vez en cuando música en vivo.
Hob Nob Grille 3350 SE Morrison St., Portland 503-445-3665 Sundays - 8:00-9:00 lesson; 9-12 dancing Hob Nob Grille, an American pub when not spinning Salsa music, is the inspired, but tired, Salseros dream. Open Sunday nights only, this venue starts early and ends early, letting people get one more weekend groove on before the Monday alarm goes off. The food here is delicious and varied, the drinks are fantastic, and the overall atmosphere is perfectly mellow and absent of all ego. Unlike most Salsa clubs, you can actually have a conversation with friends while not dancing and even enjoy a Sunday supper. And it is free.	Hob Nob Grille 3350 SE Morrison St., Portland 503-445-3665 Domingos - 8 a 9 p.m. clase, 9 a 12 baile abierto Hob Nob Grille, un pub americano cuando no están tocando salsa, es el sueño realizado de los salseros inspirados pero cansados. Abierto solamente los domingos en la noche este lugar comienza y termina temprano, invitándoles a disfrutar una vez mas antes de comenzar la semana. La comida está esquisita y el ambiente relajado y sin ego. Lo que lo diferencia de otros lugares es que puedes tener una conversación si no estás bailando y hasta compartir una cena del domingo. Lo mejor: es gratis.
Portland Dancesport 7981 SE 17th Ave., Portland 503-236-8160 Wednesdays - 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Lesson, 9:00 - 11:00 p.m. Dancing This ballroom and Latin dance venue hosts Salsa exclusively on Wednesday nights! Students enjoy a large dance floor, club lighting and munchies with DJ'd Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue and more. Located in Sellwood, this venue is part ballroom, part club and has plentiful parking available. Advanced dancers and professionals can inquire about VIP passes. Este local de baile y baile latino tiene una noche de salsa exclusiva: Los miércoles. Santa Fe Taquería 831 NW 23rd Ave., Portland 503-220-0406 Thursdays 9:30 - 10:15 p.m. – Lesson; 10:15 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. – Dancing Cover: $5 This is the cousin to Aztec Willie's, so it has a similar vibe - that is to say, fun, gritty-in-a-good-way, social, non-pretentious (although many of the fanciest dancers in town come here, they're cool, don't be fooled), and so very authentic (it is a taquería, after all). This Thursday night is a favorite with DJ Armando spinning his magic collection of tunes, and the adjacent bar called "The Office". Santa Fe also happens to be the only Westside Salsa venue at the moment, so to those Portland Westies who tire of crossing the river every time you want to get your shimmy on - rejoice!	Santa Fe Taquería 831 NW 23rd Ave., Portland 503-220-0406 Jueves 9:30 - 10:15 p.m. – Clase; 10:15 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. – Baile Cover: $5 Este es la prima de Aztec Willie's, por ende tiene una vibra parecida. Eso es decir que es divertido, no pretencioso (aunque muchos de los mejores bailadores de la ciudad vienen aquí) y muy auténtico (después de todo es una taquería). Los jueves encontrarán al DJ Armando tocando los temas favoritos. Hay un bar al lado llamado "La Oficina". Santa Fe también es el único local salsero en el lado oeste, así que para ustedes quienes se cansan de cruzar el río cada vez que quieren rumbear, disfruten aquí!
Satin and Latin Friday Dance Party 707 NE Broadway #201, Portland 503-281-6691 Friday - 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Cover: $5 The focus of this dance party is Rueda de Casino, Miami style. Because this is the only evening hour all ages event in Portland it's perfect for the burgeoning Salsa student who is in college or high school, and of course anyone over 21 as well. Satin and Latin doesn't have a functioning website, so it is best just to go down and enjoy the party!	Satin and Latin Friday Dance Party 707 NE Broadway #201, Portland 503-281-6691 Viernes - 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Cover: $5 El enfoque de esta fiesta de baile es la Rueda de Casino, estilo Miami. Burnside St, Portland 503-226-3262 1st Saturday of the month 2:15 p.m. Lesson, 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. Dancing Cover: $5 This is Portland's original Salsa Social, providing new dancers and seasoned dancers with a place to work out their skills without the pressure of the club environment. It is early in the day, often following a specialized workshop, leaving plenty of opportunity for dancers to meet new people, tryout some new moves, practice in front of a mirror, make mistakes without embarrassment, and still have enough energy left over to go out dancing later that night! Fresh snacks and drinks always provided. All ages welcome and encouraged!	Viscount Saturday Salsa Social 724 E.
