Descripción: Este es el mejor lugar para bailar salsa
pero a la legua! En general la música es la salsa clásica,
pero eso puede variar dependiendo de quién es el DJ esa noche.
Usualmente, Eileen Torres va turnando DJs durante el mes para
que haya un potpurrí de gustos salseros, pero siempre es de
buen gusto! El público es bailador... pues es aquí donde
se juntan los mejores bailadores. A menudo los mejores están
en la orilla de la pista de baile y los principiantes en medio.
Los casineros congregan alrededor del bar arriba donde hay mas
espacio. Es posible encontrarte con unas ruedas de vez en cuando.

WARNING! Do not go to this club if you like merengue! This is
almost a strictly salsa club with an occasional cha-cha or bolero.
The Salsa here is great!!!
Description: This place is absolutely the best place
for salsa dancing in DC, hands down. The music is generally
classic salsa but it can vary depending on the DJ that night.
Eileen Torres generally rotates DJs throughout the month so
you get a potpourri of salsa tastes but it is always good. The
crowd is a dancing crowd. This is the place where the best salseros
congregate. Often the best dancers are at edges of the dance
floor while the beginners stick to the middle of the dance floor.
The Casino dancers usually hangout near the top bar where there
is space. You can usually see a few ruedas pop up here from
time to time. Please approach all casineros. We all tend to
be very friendly in the DC area.

mezcla. Descripción: Este es un lugar muy popular en DC.
Básicamente es una institución. Existen muchos que son
ferozmente leales a este lugar y ¿quién los puede culpar? Es
un lugar relajado y tiene un ambiente nítidamente cubano. Estoy
seguro que eso es debido a que los dueños son cubanos! Se llena
bastante los fines de semanas pero es más tolerable los días
de semana. Muchos aquí son principiantes, pero todos son amigables.
Está en el corazón del barrio conocido como Adams Morgan, una
área con muchos restaurantes y bares étnicos y muy divertidos. Nota: Aunque el lugar sea cubano, no enseñan salsa
estilo cubano y jamás ves a nadie aquí bailando Casino,
pero de todas maneras es un lugar divertido.

mix. Description: This is a very popular place for Salsa in
DC. It is basically an institution. There are many fiercely
loyal to this place and who can blame them! It is a very relaxed
environment and it has a strong Cuban feel to it. I am sure
it is because the owners are Cuban. It can get very packed on
Weekends but it is much more tolerable on weekdays. Many of
the dancers here are beginners but everyone is pretty warm and
friendly. It is in the heart of Adams Morgan, an area with many
ethnic restaurants and fun bars. Note: While the place is Cuban, they do not
teach Cuban Style Salsa and you never see people dance Casino
style there but overall it is a fun salsa place.

salsa. It is a large place with plenty of space to dance. The
hardcore dancers hang out in the back of the club while the
"weekend" warriors hang out near the dance floor.
This is the place most of the dancers will go to on a Saturday
night. Basically the best option for salsa on this night.

and Saturday evenings at this club.
However once the lesson is over, they play Salsa less than half
of the time. The rest of the time they'll mix merengue, bachata,
cha cha, etc. The floor is fairly large and there are generally
lots of people there so it's still crowded. The cover charge
is $10.

This club has a Latin night on Sundays.
(They do more country-type dancing on other nights.) They have
a Salsa lesson from 9 to 9:45 pm on Sundays. Then they have
a DJ till 2 am For the first hour after the lesson, they play
a reasonable amount of Salsa. After that, the DJ veers more
toward assorted Latin house music and you may hear very little
Salsa. It has a good size floor, however. Serious Salsa dancers
sometimes go just for that first hour and then leave. There
is a $5 cover charge.
