Carlos Manuel y su Clan in Miami!

Raw sexuality, but with clothes!

Ladies, these are the guys your mama warned you about ...the same ones most of us dream about snuggling up next to every night for a rockin' and rollin' good time! Problem is, they were up on stage and out of reach, except for some ladies in the front row who were extremely atrevidas and who managed to slide their hands up Carlos Manuel's thigh when he stepped too close to the front edge of the stage... Ñó!

But was it contagious, hot, fun and energetic?
YOU BET IT WAS!

Carlos Manuel y su Clan en concierto en Miami Beach, 15 de noviembre, 2002. Foto por JaciraThis is the best young timba band that I know of in Cuba today. I was lucky enough to see them for myself nearly four years ago at La Casa de la Música in Havana, back when they were just starting out. I remember the musicians jumping off the stage in the middle of the show to sell casettes and cds of their first album, Por la Vena el Gusto, to the people in the audience.

No longer do they have to resort to such antics to sell albums. Their flagrant sexuality has all the women flocking to buy these cds, and their boyfriends wondering, "Where can I learn to move like that?"

Carlos Manuel y su Clan en Miami, 15 de noviembre, 2002. Fotos por JaciraIt looked to me like their choreographer added some afro-brazilian samba moves as well as hip hop moves to their routines, but the combination is a winning one, because it makes the crowds go wild.

Beyond the great dancing and showmanship, Carlos Manuel has a great voice. Add charisma to that and you have a phenomenal young artist with tremendous international appeal. If this show comes to a city near you, be sure not to miss it! And get ready to sweat and dance up a storm!

Special thanks to Hugo Cancio for having the co**nes to bring Cuban groups to Miami!

Be sure to check out their other album, Malo Cantidad.
